Our history

Operation Orphan has been initiated by Brad and Cyrilyn Moore, after Brad developed the concept while working in Eastern Europe during 2000.

He says: “The experience of seeing children, who once had no hope, no love and no support, find a new life sparked the desire to do my part and take up this cause."

“Being a father to the fatherless is a calling I cannot depart from. This journey is one that will last a lifetime and hopefully continue to the next generation and beyond.”

From the age of nine, Cyrilyn was determined to work with the children of Africa, a sense of purpose that led her to develop a range of skills of benefit to those who have lost everything.

In creating Operation Orphan, a key goal is to use funds donated to us to directly benefit the children. We will achieve this is by having trustworthy project managers on the ground and a corporate sponsor to underwrite all our UK administrative costs.

Working alongside Brad and Cyrilyn are our fellow Operation Orphan trustees,
Mario and Ros Mariani, Jen Farrington and Damian and Helen Broughton.
