To date millions of Syrians and Iraqis have fled the conflict by crossing the border into Jordan and other surrounding countries. While we are aware that this migrant crisis is impacting countries across Europe, having reviewed the situation we are responding to this tragedy by helping closer to the fighting. We are continuing to empower our Jordanian partners to provide relief directly to the refugees living in the northern cities of their country. Not only does the team provide practical relief but they are committed to building long term relationships, helping families work through the emotional impact of their situation.
In 2014 Operation Orphan delivered a 40ft container of clothing and sent another in 2015, this time it included 20,000 nappies. We continue to send small grants when funds are available to continue this response.
Our aim is to be there for these precious people in their time of need, and hopefully one day help them to rebuild their homes and their lives when they return to their countries.
