Triumph After Triumph

We want to say a HUGE thank you to all social care staff - you are all doing an incredible job! We’re sending you lots of virtual claps!

It's such a privilege to be able to help social care workers to support the children in their care, and it’s amazing to think about all of the families that we’ve helped during this lockdown. There are so many incredible stories to share.

Thank you so much to everyone who made these stories possible.

18-month old "Daniel" was in desperate need of a cot-bed. He was sleeping in the same bed as his mum, which posed a risk to his safety. The Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have impacted their usual support networks and "Daniel's" mum has consequently been struggling to meet her children's needs. We were able to provide “Daniel” with a cot-bed, and also provide his older brother with a high bed, so that the family could make the most of the little space they have. The results are incredible…

Because of her age, teenage mum “Ellie” is unable to obtain any financial support for her son. She is not supported by her baby’s father, or their family, so she has been struggling to provide for her baby.  With thanks to all your donations, we were able to help provide a high-chair for “Ellie’s” son. We were also able to provide some new clothes, with the very generous help of Sharewear Clothing Scheme.

Recently, we have also had the pleasure of delivering a beautiful Baby Basics hamper, a Sharewear clothing bundle, some storage items and a pram to an expecting mother.

“Georgia’s” family have had a pest infestation! Unfortunately, this meant that they had to dispose of all of their beds and they were unable to afford to buy new ones. With your support, we were able to provide bed bases for two of the children, and mattresses and bedding for all three children!

New-born “Jack” has just been welcomed into the world! The family had managed to acquire all the essentials items to care for the baby, which is such great news! The family have worked really had to clean and de-clutter the home, so that it is a safe environment for “Jack”. But for the home to be a truly safe environment for “Jack” to play, explore and develop, the family were in need of three safety gates. With your help, this week we have been able to deliver these to “Jack’s” family!

Finally, this week we were also able to deliver a new mattress and some new bedding to a 5-year old girl who has previously been sleeping in a cot-bed!

These stories prove what a positive difference we can make when we work together! Together, we can help the vulnerable families in our community who are battling through poverty. We have been so overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity over the last few weeks. We have emergency referrals being submitted every day - the need never stops.

Stories are powerful - We encourage you to share these stories with your friends, family, neighbours and colleagues, because without a growing support network we wouldn’t be able to grow and expand!

We couldn’t do any of this without you - so thank you!

If these stories have inspired you to donate, then we would be so grateful if you could visit our Shop, so that we can help even more families in similar situations.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to accept any second-hand donations, but once the UK hits a Covid-19 Alert Level 2 (as determined by the government), then we will be able to begin furniture collections again. Hopefully, there won’t be too much longer to wait…

Until then, please stay safe and stay positive,
