Crisis Response: Nepal Flood 2026
At the moment, the best way to support the team’s work is financially. Operation Orphan’s 100% promise means that even a few pounds has a huge impact on the team’s ability to identify, make safe, and keep safe children who have been orphaned or made vulnerable by the disaster.
We are not requesting any practical donations at this time. If this changes as the team report back from the frontline, we will update our social media channels and website with information on what is needed and how to donate, so please keep an eye on this.
If you are able to support the team financially, this empowers the team to buy essential items in-country in direct response to the children’s needs.

Some of our projects rely on the generosity of our supporters and there are many items that we need all of the time.
We welcome donations of the items listed below throughout the year either in person or through the post. If you do post items to us, please pop a note and email address inside so we know who to thank.
All donated items must be GOOD QUALITY and they can be dropped off at an agreed appointment - please call the office to arrange.
Keep a Child Warm
The items we need for Keep a Child Warm are for children over the age of 3 and up to teenage (small to medium adult). Each child receives the same winter kit. We currently welcome donations of the following throughout the year:
Blankets (the size of blanket is important to ensure each child feels equal;
therefore, we ask for them to be around 6’x4’)Winter coats
We cannot take donations of second hand duvets or pillows
We have been able to build up a good stock of hats, gloves, and scarves. Due to limited storage, we are currently unable to accept donations of these items.

Forget-Me-Notts
We are working with Social Services and support agencies to identify and meet the practical needs of ‘at risk’ children in our area. We aim to ensure that every child has a bed to sleep in and hopefully provide any other essential household items, which are highlighted by the social worker. There are some items (listed below) that appear regularly on our referrals and we welcome suitable donations of these throughout the year.
As we are giving the items directly to the children and their families, rather than them being able to choose what they would like, we only take donations of items that are in an ‘as new’ condition with ALL fixtures and fittings included.
We want to ensure that the children feel equal and valued rather than being given something that ‘will do’.
Standard single, bunk and double bed frames
Cot beds and toddler beds that are compatible with a 70x140cm mattress
Single and double mattresses (we can only take stain-free mattresses)
Fitted sheets, bedding sets, brand new duvets and pillows, waterproof mattress protectors
Single bed sized blankets
Bedroom drawers and small wardrobes
We CANNOT take donations of second hand duvets, pillows, white goods or electrical items
If you have something to donate to Forget-Me-Notts, please get in touch to see if we have a current need. Your message should include a photo, measurements of the item and your postcode (if offering a large item and a collection is needed).
If we are in need, our team will then make an assessment visit to see if they would be happy to use the items in our referrals and if so, bring them back here so they are ready to be installed in their new home.
If they are not suitable for use in a referral, we have the option of offering a Waste Nott Want Nott collection as an alternative. This is a paid for service where the items will be recycled rather than put in landfill.

If we receive donations of items that we cannot use in our projects, we reserve the right to either pass them on to another charity or sell them to provide funds.
