New classroom floor - Pencott Valley Primary School
As part of the infrastructure development program at Pencott school, new floors have recently been laid in the existing classroom block.
I want to say a huge thank you to all our donors who empower us to make this much needed investment. The new building continues to take shape with the concrete for the ceiling of the second classroom being poured in the next few weeks. Our goal is to complete the ground floor of the new build and raise the standard of all existing buildings. Once this is achieved then the first and second floors will be built as and when necessary. This goal, coupled with teacher training and the increase of salaries, will hopefully retain teachers and attract more fee paying children from the surrounding areas. This will increase the sustainability of the school and the fulfilment of the vision, which is to provide free education for families too poor to send their child to school. Currently half of the children enrolled at Pencott come from families like this.
