Packing week 2016

The 50 plus students and staff at Chilwell School 6th Form were again a force to be reckoned with.

Their stamina and determination to get the job done shone through and with a supply of ice lollies and a few cooling water fights along the way, we managed to pack over 700 boxes for orphans and vulnerable children in Moldova, Ukraine, Hungary and Romania.

We were thrilled to welcome some volunteers who had made long journeys to help us from places such as Cambridge, Liverpool, Yorkshire and Surrey along with our loyal team of local volunteers.

As well as the work happening at Chilwell School, there were jobs to be done at our warehouse and we were very grateful to have the support of some National Citizen Service (NCS) Teams who worked so hard sorting, packing and loading vans.

The Keep a Child Warm project is truly a team effort and for my first year of taking the lead I was delighted to have such an amazing team to work with.  Huge thanks to everyone involved.
