Shetland to Nottingham

Julia had donations from a total of 11 schools and various other individuals, companies and community groups.

They live in Shetland so they know a fair bit about keeping warm, and also about travelling.  Julia and John made the 659 mile journey, by van and ferry, and were still smiling when they got here!  Huge thanks to Star Car Rentals who gave them the van for free, and to everyone in Shetland who donated money towards getting the donations here.  We are so thankful to be connected to Julia, she has fundraised and talked about us to everyone she knows in order to get the donations of clothing and then to transport them to Nottingham.

John and Julia also put in a day of sorting in the warehouse, once we’d unloaded the van!  There were beautiful knitted items (courtesy of Loving Hands Shetland), hundreds of warm shoes, gloves, scarves and hats and hundreds of warm winter coats.  Some very generous people had even donated some BRAND NEW, and very warm, North Face coats.

Thank you to everyone involved in Shetland.
