Our 'Knights' in Shining Armour!
University of Nottingham’s Cheerleading squad, the Nottingham Knights, have been battling through isolation with valiance and honour, by fundraising for us!
The UoN cheerleaders decided to challenge themselves during this isolation. They wanted to ensure that everyone was looking after their physical and mental health, and staying connected with each other, whilst also benefitting a charity.
The cheerleaders were supposed to be visiting Prague this summer, but like many of us, they sadly had their trip cancelled due to this pandemic.
Between them, the girls challenged themselves to walk, run or cycle the distance from Nottingham to Prague, a total of 1120km.
They have been logging their distances, times and routes on their Strava page; we have been following them and supporting them along their journey.
We are so proud of these incredible girls and all that they have achieved. They managed to completely smash their target distance, and as well as this, they managed to absolutely annihalate their target of £350, raising an extraordinary £515 to go towards the running of our projects.
We are so lucky that we have the continuous support of groups like the Nottingham Knights. We cannot thank them enough! They are all absolute stars!
