I am excited to share some feedback, from one of our dedicated social workers, to show you how much your effort means to us!
Firstly, the social worker would like to say “a huge THANK YOU for your ongoing support to our vulnerable families in Derbyshire’s Children’s Services.”
The social worker recently oversaw the delivery of beds and bedding.
“Due to COVID [the Forget-Me-Notts Team] have gone above and beyond with PPE and had sourced protective clothing, face masks, gloves, but as not to scare any children when they enter their property with all their ‘gear’ on they make every effort to reassure the children that they are here to help and make sure they have seen their faces before then placing all the appropriate PPE on. [The FMN Team] have also provided colouring sheets and crayons to children of people dressed up in PPE so to break that barrier down as well. This has been truly welcomed by parents.”
The social worker commented on the goods our FMN Team provided saying
“they were of high quality and [the FMN Team] gave reassurance to the family that they had been stored in protective wrapping in their warehouses, and the procedures [the FMN Team] had in place around sanitisation in light of the Covid pandemic.”
“[The FMN Team] then built the beds within the property and placed all the bedding on, giving the children a chance to choose which quilt covers they would like. I felt this personal touch went that extra mile to support this family, because like a lot of the families we work with they do often feel embarrassed about receiving charity, but I believe the team make every effort to make the families feel at ease.”
The social worker was later told the children “were so excited about having their new beds they had asked their mum if they could go for an afternoon nap to try them out!”
