Delivering 1165 Easter eggs to support our local vulnerable children

We recently delivered 1165 Easter eggs for social workers to gift to our local vulnerable children. Our supply of Easter eggs is dependent on community donations, so we sincerely thank everyone who got involved and offered a helping hand.

If you are not familiar with Forget-Me-Notts and our Easter appeals, we are a project of Operation Orphan designed to meet the specific needs of vulnerable children across the East Midlands. Every Easter and Christmas, we host an appeal asking for community donations of Easter eggs, or selection boxes, to distribute to our local vulnerable children. These gifts are special as they remind the children that they are not forgotten and without them, a lot of children would not receive an Easter egg this Easter.

We provide Easter eggs for social workers and other care groups to distribute between the children they support; we ensure that social workers receive all of the Easter eggs they request as they provide targeted help towards the most vulnerable children across the East Midlands.

This year, we received a total of 1165 Easter eggs from social workers; however, if we also consider the request from other care groups, we received a large request of 3613 Easter eggs altogether. We split our deliveries into 2 separate dates: 1 for social workers, and the other for care groups.

Nicole, our intern, went out with the Forget-Me-Notts team to help deliver the Easter eggs to the social workers.

Everyone was so thankful to receive the gifts and we would like to thank everybody who helped make this possible. These Easter eggs truly make a difference for the children and reminds them that they are not forgotten. Your kindness is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to delivering the remaining Easter eggs soon.
