An Update on Donations!

It’s been a busy time around here and we have been making some great local connections. As you might know, in the past we have collected items such as coats for Keep a Child Warm and other aid to help in times of international disasters. 

As things have changed and developed over the years, it is no longer cost effective for us to send shipments of aid overseas unless this is for a specific response. We have been in a position where we had been holding onto things we couldn’t use in our projects. We kept things ready to distribute at a future opportunity but with the cost of everything going up and warehouse space being at an absolute premium, we really needed to scale back and ensure everything we are stock piling is essential. 

At a recent packing day we sorted through everything and since then, the team has done an incredible job of teaming up with local community hubs who are helping vulnerable children and families around Nottinghamshire. These hubs provide services to support children through counselling, healthcare and social welfare. One way they offer support is by making available some essential items (such as coats, clothing and hygiene products). This is perfect because these are exactly the kinds of things we had in stock. 

We have made the decision to gift some of our aid to help local families in need. It’s seems like the best way to ensure these items are used to help vulnerable children (which is why they were given to us in the first place). 

Unfortunately, we don’t have the manpower as a team to continue to process these kinds of donations, so this isn’t a new front we have opened but a one-off clear out to make space for dealing with the donations we know we can use. 

When we are responding to an international crisis that would require specific items, we will put word out. Until then, we are only receiving items we can guarantee finding a good home for; 

Large warm, handmade blankets (approx. 6’x4’) ✅

Single and double mattresses in an excellent condition ✅

Brand new duvets & pillows ✅ 

Fitted sheets & duvet cover sets in an excellent condition (toddler, single and double) ✅ 

Brand new toiletries & cleaning supplies ✅
