We have a Van!!

We are thrilled to say we have officially got a new van for Forget-Me-Notts and it is such a lovely story!

This past week we had our first opportunities to test drive some new vans with a view to by one with the incredible donations we have received and the money we got from insurance. We were test driving some at our local garage, who were amazing and we did find a van that we were going to buy.

However, we posted on social media that we were test driving vans and our amazing friend, Karen Cookson, happened to see it! We have been working with Karen for 15 years but she isn’t online much so hadn’t heard about our van being stolen. However, this past week was her last few days of work, where she fundraises for various organisations through clothing banks and she has been such a great support to us, helping us collect items.

When Karen heard about us needing a van and test driving new vans to buy, she gave us call as she was finishing trading and looking to sell her van for the exact amount of money we were looking to spend! It’s 4 years younger than the other van we’d been looking at, has way less milage and is in amazing condition! The whole situation is amazing and we are so grateful to Karen. She definitely could’ve sold it for more elsewhere but wanted to do this to support the work we do and we are just so grateful!

This whole journey has been a real emotional rollercoaster but we are so grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. All the financial donations have made a huge difference in us getting a new van, along with the insurance money, and we’ve ended up with an incredible van, which is amazing.

The van has already made it’s referral debut and it’s great. So a huge thank you to Karen and everyone else who has supported us on this journey! We are so excited to be entering this new chapter!
