Corporate team day for for Waste Nott Want Nott!

In December, we piloted an exciting new idea with our corporate partners Xylem Watermark, with some of their staff coming to volunteer with Waste Nott Want Nott!

We always love having volunteers in our office and at events and we often have companies and employees looking for volunteering opportunities so it’s so lovely to find new and different ways they can help.

December was our first time trying this new idea and it was lovely to have three amazing volunteers from Xylem Watermark spend the day with us. The volunteers spent the day working with our amazing Waste Nott Want Nott team, learning how we strip mattresses down into their different parts to prepare them for recycling.

This team day was so wonderful as it not only had a positive impact on the environment but as profits from Waste Nott Want Nott go into Operation Orphan, it also helps vulnerable children across the world. Every year millions of mattresses end up in landfill. Our goal is to do everything we can to stop this through collecting and recycling mattresses in our area. Having the volunteers from Xylem Watermark was such an incredible help! Between them they managed to get through an amazing number of mattresses, making an incredible impact on the environment, and therefore the work done by Operation Orphan.

It was so lovely having the guys with us for the day. They worked so hard (and hopefully had some fun)! We’re looking forward to having some more volunteers with us again soon!
