TEFL Graduate in Zim

Nev moved to the UK several years ago. You might assume that she moved to retire but she works tirelessly, looking after the 'elderly' (many of the people younger than herself).

This has always impressed me. She really defines that saying 'age is just a number' as there is no slowing down for this wonder woman!

Her most recent achievement is qualifying as a TEFL teacher.

What a wonderful opportunity it was for her to return to Amatelaz Homework Centre with her new qualification and help the students whose first language is Shona!

Five Year 10 girls, who needed help with their spoken and written English, were selected. They got together with Nev almost every afternoon over the three weeks she was in town.

June (Amatelaz Manager) felt the students had made great progress during this short time, and Nev had a lot of fun with “her girls”.

“I think I learnt as much from them as they learnt from me” she said.

What a brilliant example she is to me. Inspirational.
