Flash Floods Devastate Uganda

We received word at the weekend that the heavy rains in Uganda caused devastating flash flooding that has taken too many lives.

We are sad. Grieving for our friends in the district and also so proud of them for stepping up before the government response was anywhere to be seen, with many affected people taking shelter and receiving food at our school in the slum area, Pencott.

Brad was planning to be in the area already, to visit our project coordinators. This trip couldn’t have been planned for a better time as he is now able to use his Crisis Response experience to make a difference on multiple levels.

As you can see here, the water line is where the flooding was. So many homes have been damaged and too many lives have been lost.

Brad will be sending updates when he can. Today has been a full day, ensuring the people who haven’t eaten since the flooding began (five days) have access to a meal.

We choose not to share shocking images of dead bodies and videos of people screaming to manipulate you to donate. That’s not our style. But if you have it in your heart to empower us to be part of the solution to help these families who have just lost their loved ones, please donate below or give us a call at the office to make a donation over the phone. As always, 100% of your donation will be used to help those affected.
